The second part of the opening scene is located outside the house and in a footpath/woods also in Hanworth:
We picked these locations because they were quite close together so it was convenient for shooting and made our filming process easier.
The bedroom was also really effective as the bright pink walls and pink bed etc all achieved the contrapuntal look we wanted. This was to make the start of the opening have a happy, light atmosphere as we thought this would be more effective. The bright colours also make the first couple of scenes look really realistic and cinematic.
The woods were also a perfect place for a murder scene and is an effective convention of typical thrillers. They were also empty most of the time and have a pathway going down the middle which made it look better and was easier to shoot our opening scene in. The woods also automatically change the mood of the opening scene and foreshadows that something bad is going to happen. It also matched perfectly with the character (Amanda) who inhabits the woods as she is supposed to be quite creepy and the deserted woods was perfect to go with her.
